2022 is in the books! Below are some of my favorites for the year:
Favorite new food: Salmon, cooked all different ways. Not sure why I am so late to discover this one!
Favorite new drink: Chocolate peppermint martini
Favorite new beauty product: B.R.U.S.H. 30-40 curling wand. I am terrible at doing my hair and even I can't mess this up!
Favorite TV show: Ted Lasso. This might be my favorite show ever.
Favorite read: Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus
Favorite new tradition: Vacation with hubby only. We’ll still do one with the kids but nice to get away just us.
Favorite new gadget: The Shark robotic vacuum (awesome for dog hair)
Favorite new habit: Box breathing (I like the Breathe app)
Favorite project: Deck renovation
Favorite new addition: Our yellow lab puppy, Daisy
Favorite Christmas gift: A refurbished Wii. Loved revisiting the past with my husband and kids
Favorite realization: Minimalism. I've gotten rid of a ton of stuff. It makes a big difference in how things look and feel.
Favorite rediscovery: Running
Favorite Mom moment: My oldest daughter graduating from college
Favorite author moment: The release of my third novel, The Santa Games
For 2023, I am setting intentions rather than resolutions. My main one is to be more present. I have a tendency to be a Type A, person – getting up at 5:00 a.m., multitasking, rushing. I do get a lot done, and I always thought it was because of the way I was wired. Now I am not so sure. I am setting an intention to be more relaxed and “in the moment”. I am hoping the energy gained from quiet endeavors, doing one thing at a time, and appreciating the present will enable me to get just as much done but enjoy myself more as I do so.
I hope your New Year is off to a great start. Thank you for reading my blog. I look forward to connecting to you this year!
